In Janior Lanier´s work we can see how the World Wide Web actually had its intention in the progress of society. He makes me ponder about the possibility of recovering that primary motivation focused in humanity and common good. According to the author, the way technology is used and consumed depends hugely in the way it is presented in society and that can be changed by modifying the digital education.
I think it’s great the development of human beings with the help of technology. Even though there can be bad behaviours it would be worse not to use it, because they are part of life itself, it is the way the world evolves, by adapting, changing and accepting.
Finally, I found very alarming how Lanier explains the lack of variety in the Web when it has a great potential for creative processes; all content looks the same. I deeply agree with the tips he gives in order to “be a person instead of a source of fragments to be exploited by others”.
