This shift in marketing strategies is a sign that people’s necessities and importance are growing bigger. Now, we do not treat individuals as a whole -at the most, divided into niche groups-. After this change, with inbound marketing, every person and her/his tastes, matter. A change also motivated due to the number of impacts and stimuli the user perceives every day, 24/7. We as users became blind in terms of seeing ads. We have to be attracted to the product to noticed it.
Therefore, as users, the sensation we get is as if we had AI and marketing at our service. It shows us what we so-needed or wanted. But in reality is the way companies can get our attention and built a better relationship.
With this, I feel that marketers and advertisers are trying to facewash the old intrusive way of presenting ads to the population. Creating a new relationship, based on trust and attraction from the user to that that is presented.
But this is not an act of compassion to users, it is the way companies have adapted to ensure that you, as a client, as a consumer of their advertisement, would like their product, and potentially recommended it.
Feeling bombarded might create a sense of rejection towards that product or service advertised. And, according to the theory of the 6º, every person is (inter)connected in a way, to a bigger or narrower stent -no matter the distance-. And with this, every impact might ensure more impacts in an exponential expansion. Making the campaign more efficient and powerful, increasing the connectivity among people, and the conversations about our brand.
