Newsgaming, also called the game of information is a concept that offers information and knowledge in an entertaining way, following the pauses driven by gamification. This concept is a combination between videogames and journalism, it has been created to make information attractive and to capture the audience´s attention into knowledge that is presented in a didactic and entertaining way.
The example I chose is the game “September 12th: A toy world” developed by Gonzalo Frasca. I think it is very interesting how people act when using this game. At first they start shooting but there is a point where they realize that they can´t win the game by shooting, this helps people to raise awareness about terrorism and the damage it causes.
The main idea of the project is to use the language of videogames to describe the current events. And to make people understand that violence makes more violence. The gamer controls the weapons and bombs, this don’t only kill terrorists, they also kill innocent people and it creates collateral damage. After this the village is destroyed and and full of terrorists, this is when the gamer finds out that there is no way of winning the game by killing people.
The game was controversial when it was first launched because it generated negative comments but when the war against terror was souring, its popularity grew exponentially. Nowadays it has been part of museums and galleries from all over the world as a tool to discuss terrorism.

Marketing has changed, and technologies too, now people create content on social networks and share it so that this information reaches many people. The same has happened with marketing, it has gone from 360º to 6º.
360º marketing, is a global marketing strategy that reaches the masses and 6º marketing focuses on a specific audience.
Nowadays technology has made marketing different, it attracts a specific audience in an interesting way for them, it interacts with the people. Also, the visual content that it gives us attracts us much more, it is personalized. What this type of marketing achieves is to reach our main objective.

Technology has changed our lives. Nowadays everyone is a slave of technology in different ways. The fact that we can say whatever we want makes us feel more liberated, but at the same time being anonymous online does not let us be who we want to be in our real lives. Technology manipulates the way we think and this means a huge dehumanization, not everything online is real and people believe most of the things that are said (e.g. news, articles…), what they don’t understand is that this is called virtual reality, which means that not everything said online is true in our real lives.

Not everything that technology offers is negative, it has made our life´s much easier, we can chat or even speak face to face from our digital devices with people that life far away. This means that the interpersonal communication´s through technology are very comfortable, but at the same time, people find it more difficult to communicate with someone face to face if they can do it through a device.

To sum up, I believe that we have to be careful with technology, we have to be loyal to the way that we think and don’t let it manipulate us. If we use technology being conscious it has more positive than negative aspects.
